CCSA Varsity Jazz Ensemble

The CCSA Varsity Jazz Ensemble is under the direction of Mr. James Tharp. The Ensemble performs at the highest standard for High School Jazz Ensembles. 

 

The Ensemble has received a rating of superior 15 years in a row on the school's yearly Band Trip. The Ensemble performs in competitions in the Delaware area and ends each year with their annual Jazz Under the Stars Concert. 

 

The Ensemble is a standard Big Band: 2 Alto Saxophones, 2 Tenor Saxophones, 1 Baritone Saxophone, 4 Trombones, 4 Trumpets and Rhythm Section (Drum Set, Piano, Bass and Guitar).

 

Membership into this ensemble is by audition only.  Practices are two times a week, after school, during the winter/spring seasons.
